1.  LOCATION: Kilometer 84.5, CA-9 Highway to the Atlantic, “El Rancho” Village, San Agustin Acasaguastlan Town, El Progreso Department.

 2.  AREA: 72.89 hectares  equal to 180.11 acres.

 3.  PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS: Bleached pulp, long fiber air dry    and pine sawn wood.

 4. TYPE OF PROCESS:   Chemical sulphate (Kraft)

 5. CAPACITY INSTALED: 100,000 tons/yr, bleached pulp A/D.

 6.  RAW MATERIAL CONSUMPTION. 110,000 cubic meters of conifer wood for diameter of Minimum 8 inches and ahead sawmill, 430,000 cubic meters for the pulp plant in small diameters, slabs and other sawmill residuals make a total 540,000 consume cubic meters of conifers per year, Pinnus oocarpa, Pinnus caribaea, Pinnus maximinoii and Pinnus seudostrobus.

 7.  LABOUR EMPLOYED: 474 persons directly among professionals, technicians, operators, in forest, and other 3,500 persons indirectly in transport and forestry.

 8. GENERAL INFORMATION: The construction started in 1981 and finished in 1984, a partial start of the project was made in march in 1985, in this opportunity the plant produced KRAFT pulp in about 25 tons during 8 days.

 9. SPECIFIC INFORMATION: In relation to the basic machinery, its design was made by the Finnish Company JAAKO POYRY and the construction was under the coordination of the spanish Technic of Pulp and Paper Company (TECPAPEL).
