Behind the convention
scene in El Salvador you'll find the Convention and Visitors Bureau
(CVB). This private, nonprofit organization is dedicated to promoting
El Salvador's image as a convention destination. Created in the early
70's, the CVB participates in tourism and business conventions worldwide.
The CVCB attends the International Association of Convention and Visitors
Bureau (IACVB) Annual Conference as well as other noted conferences
and seminars throughout the world, such as the Destination Showcase
held in Washington. Aside from seeing to logistics for its diverse client
portfolio, which includes local as well as international companies,
the CVB attends to the protocol portion of conventions in the opening
and closing ceremonies.

Its primary goal is to promote El Salvador and its convention centers
as prime destinations for companies in search of a unique host country.
The newly inaugurated International Fair and Convention Center (IFCC)
is a large complex containing different pavilions. Every two years an
international fair is held in the Center as well as numerous other expositions
and events that are held in the spacious facilities.
El Salvador has the best airport in Central America and offers daily
flights to and from the U.S., Europe and South America. Access to the
smallest country in Central America is not a problem. Its prime location
near the famed Zona Rosa and several of the first-class hotels in El
Salvador, the Center is but a few minutes away for the business traveler.
The IFCC complex boasts a well-equipped food court as well as an outdoor
theater with capacity for 10,000 people. The Central America Pavilion
#1 boasts 900 square meters of covered area and is ideal for art exhibitions
and other events.
The international Convention Center is a versatile area where either
one large convention can be held or four smaller events simultaneously.
These ample accommodations can comfortably seat 1,500 people.
