Properties: Annatto is very heat-fast up to 120^o C and, compared to other natural colours, relatively light-stabl. As for the carotenoids, the annatto pigment is relatively steady in unit operations such as blanching, retorting and freezing. One of the interesting advantages in using of the annatto is the easiness coloring in determinating the colour contents. The two major pigments, Bixin (oil-soluble) and Norbixin (water soluble) produce organte solution.

American Spice Corp, S.A. export both raw material, Annatto seed, the Extract Annatto Power (Bixim) and Bixin (oil soluble), Bixin (water soluble).

PACKAGING AND LABELLING: The required packaging and labelling will always be specified in the contract between the Exporter and Importer but ussually the seed is packed in 100 pounds women polythene bags. The Extract Annatto Power is packed too in woven polythene bags. The liquid Bixin (oil-soluble and water soluble) is packed in 1 Gls. bottles.
