From Guatemala City or Puerto Barrios: Litegua has buses which go directly to Fronteras. Or, take any bus along the Carretera Atlantico (Atlantic Highway) and get off at La Ruidosa junction. From there you can catch a local bus north to Fronteras. (Local buses stop running after dark.)
From La Antigua, Panajachel, and Guatemala City: Adventure Travel, S.A. has shuttles to the Rio Dulce as does Atittrans Shuttles. E-mail us and we will send addresses and phone numbers of the various options.
From Peten: Various bus companies run buses from Flores to Fronteras. These buses run every hour on the hour and vary greatly in price and level of service.
From Livingston: Water taxis (Tiburoneras) can be found at the municipal dock, which will bring you to Fronteras. The water taxis will drop you off directly in front of the Tijax Express office in Fronteras.
From Punta Gorda in Belize: Ferry service from Punta Gorda to Livingston or Puerto Barios leave most afternoons.
From Honduras: E-mail us and we will send you up-to-date information about the "Jungle Trail" to Guatemala. It is an interesting trip for the hardy and adventurous. Traveling by bus is complicated from Honduras, but easy to do. We will tell you how.
