How to get to Tijax Guatemala is easy to get to by air. Ask your travel agent for more information about daily flights from cities in the United States, Europe, and elsewhere. You may get to Fronteras, Rio Dulce by land shuttle and bus from Peten or Guatemala City. Alternatively you may fly into the Fronteras airstrip. We have land and water access. Boat shuttles run out from Fronteras all day and a twenty minute walk will bring you from the center of town straight into Hacienda Tijax. Once you reach Fronteras, visit our Tijax Express waterfront office. At Tijax Express you will find information for your travel plans and we can arrange tours to local points of interest or shuttles to Guatemala City, Antigua and Copan in Honduras. We offer help for travelers interested in other Eco-projects throughout Guatemala and the Rio Dulce. From Guatemala City or Puerto Barrios: Litegua has buses which go directly to Fronteras. Or, take any bus along the Carretera Atlantico (Atlantic Highway) and get off at La Ruidosa junction. From there you can catch a local bus north to Fronteras. (Local buses stop running after dark.) From Peten: Various bus companies run buses from Flores to Fronteras. From Livingston: Water taxis (Tiburoneras) can be found at the municipal dock which will bring you to Fronteras. The water taxis will drop you off directly in front of the Tijax Express office in Fronteras.
