The Zone Trade and Industry (ZOLIC, by its initials in Spanish) is the first free zone in Guatemala, created by the government to promote the industrial and commercial development of the country. ZOLIC is a functionally autonomous organization with own patrimony, unlimited duration and legal status. It is located in the Santo Tomas de Castilla Harbor, at Izabal, Guatemala, Central America. It works in a fenced and security-supervised area out of control of Guatemala Customs.
Within its facilities, the following activities, operations and negotiations can be done: Introduce, extract, store, exhibit, pack, unpack, manufacture, can, mount, join, refine, purify, mix, transform and, in general, trade and manipulate all kind of merchandises, products, raw materials, equipments, containers and other trade goods with the only exception of those articles which import is prohibited, according to the laws of the Republic of Guatemala.
